May 2, 5:30pm - HaegumPlus - Culpeper County Library - HaegumPlus is a hybrid fusion music group that performs with both traditional Korean and western instruments. Their signature style fuses Korean traditional music with non-traditional genres like classical and jazz to create sophisticated, distinctive sounds with special appeal for universal audiences. The group's leader, Ms. Eun Il Kang, is known to be the pioneer of "cross-over music" with the haegum, a traditional Korean stringed instrument resembling a fiddle. Kang has performed with such artists as Bobby McFerrin, Luciano Pavarotti, and the Yoshida brothers.

This performance is sponsored by the Culpeper County Library, the Korea Foundation, The State Theatre Foundation, and The Windmore Foundation for the Arts.
