The State Theatre is excited to explore and cement partnerships with local, state and national organizations to provide outstanding programming and events for Culpeper and the surrounding region. The space at the Theatre is as flexible as it is beautiful allowing for performances in the auditorium, exhibitions in lobby, and fundraisers in the common areas.
By partnering with these organizations in collaborative events, the State Theatre can serve as a catalyst and center for community activities.
Libraries
The State Theatre’s 550+ seat auditorium will provide a unique way for libraries to host public showings of their sound and moving image collections in a historical setting in the heart of downtown Culpeper. Additionally, the State Theatre looks forward to partnering in joint ventures for festivals relating to the library’s collection of sound, moving images, and memorabilia.
Education
Through partnerships with local schools and colleges, the State Theatre hopes to supplement local Arts education programs and provide a venue for our schools to show off their finest talents. The State Theatre looks forward to hosting collaborative events featuring local children, special programming for children, and educational day camps. Education is not just for children; however, the State Theatre’s future programming will also include lectures and symposia aimed at patrons of all ages.
Museums
The flexible floor plan of the State Theatre allows museums a chance for their collections to connect with patrons in a rare way. The open space of the common area provides ample room for exhibition of artifacts while the auditorium is a performance space for a museum to collaborate with the State Theatre on lectures, symposia, films, concerts and more to bring the museum’s collection to life.
Local Arts Groups
Culpeper and the surrounding region are home to many and varied talented local arts groups. The State Theatre welcomes partnerships with these groups as a way to expand their opportunities for a larger audience and as a space to allow the groups to expand the programs that they offer.
Special Event
The State Theatre looks forward to working with local government and other groups to provide a welcoming space for meetings, community concerts, travel and tourism programs, civic meetings and community celebrations.
